CesamQ
Concept
of Educational Standards for Medical Qigong,
The organisation
CesamQ was founded by Marcus Bongart 1994, after his presentation of
the concept to World Academic Society of Medical Qigong in Beijing.
Qigong
Qigong is a uniqe
method that unifies movements, breathing and concentration.
It prevents diseases,
can restore loss of health and is said to prolong life.Qigong arose
as a result of ancient knowledge among the Chinese people who
studied the connection between nature and the process of human life.
Qigong spands over
several areas, from medicine to martial arts and religion. The
qigongmethods which are used to prevent and cure deseases rest on
the thought that will can affect our organism and by that improve
physiological functions of the inner organs. Qigong can also give us
access to unused
recources of defence and regeneration. Qigongtraining and its
philosophy affect the practioner in many different ways, in a
somatic way as well as mentaly and spiritually, that is why it is of
vital importance that the practioner or patient meets a qualified
teacher or therapeut.
Medical Qigong
There is a great
deal of confusion in the qigongfield when it comes to the
terminology. We find that the term medical qigong is used more and
more frequently in the media and marketing, often in completly wrong
situations and often without the least substantion of the subject.
The term medical qigong arose in the1930s and describes a modern
kind of Chinese traditional theraphy. Medical qigong is a part of
Chinese medicine and is used as a therapeutic treatment, also called
qigongtheraphy. It is built in the knowledge of meridians,
acupuncturepoints, energycenters, inner organs, the flow of energy
and energytransformation in the body. The purpose of this method is
to cure illnesses and prolong life. A lot of qigongtechnics and
methods have been or are being adapted to medical qigong to
eliminate illnesses. Most of them are based on knowledge of various
oriental philosophies.
Qigongtherapy consists
of three parts.
1. Diagnosis – the
patient is diagnosed by means of a thorough examination in order
to find symtoms and select suitable individual qigongexercises.
The diagnosis is important to secure the benefit of the
treatment.
2. Selftraining –
means oriented qigongtraining on the recommendation of and in
consultation with a qigongtherapeut. The recommended movements
are not necesseraly limited to a certain part of the body.
#. Fa gong – means
balancing of energy, performed by a qigongtherapeut in order to strengthen qi and eliminate qidisturbances in the patient.
Concept of Educational Standards for Medical Qigong
The
CesamQ-concept gives qigongpractioners access to professional
knowledge of qigong.
The concept
includes several steps for vocational qigongeducation with varying
lenghts and contents, as well as quality assurances of active
qigongprofessionals, through further training and licensing.
