WELCOM TO THE ACADEMIC SOCIETY OF MEDICAL QIGONG

Qigong is one of the treasures of the Chinese nation and it has experienced a long history and loved by broad masses. For thousands of years it has been an effective way to keep fit and treat diseases. In recent years as a component part of the science of human life it has been attached great importance. Worldwide medical qigong has developed quickly and a transnational qigong organization emerges. Proposed by the qigong specialists of China, USA, Italy, France, Australia, Japan and Singapore, the First World Medical Qigong Conference was held on 10th,Oct. 1988. More than 800 participants from 21 countries attended the conference. A consensus was reached on the conference that an international qigong organization should be established to strengthen medical qigong interchange, its scientific research and promote the unity and cooperation among the qigong organizations in the world. At the request of the qigong enthusiasts of China, USA, Italy, France, Germany, Finland, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Danmark, Canada, Australia, Soviet Union, Poland, Austria, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Portugal, Hongkong and Taiwan the World Academic Society of Medical Qigong was registered and set up on 16th Nov. 1989 approved by the ministry concerned of the Chinese government. On 20th March 1993,the WASMQ joined the Chinese Research Association for Mass Organizations. Character. 
Since the founding of the WASMQ academic exchanges have been conducted between the society and qigong organizations of over 20 countries. Qigong lovers from a dozen countries have studied medical qigong and got treatment at the society. More than ten countries have set up the branch societies. In addition, the society has sent qigong masters abroad to lecture and treat diseases.
